The organisers of the 2026 South African Closed Chess Championship invite all suitably qualified arbiters who wish to officiate at the tournament to submit an application using the form below.
Closing date for applications: Friday, 16 January at 12:00 pm
Event dates: 21 February – 1 March 2026
(Arbiters required from 20 February)
Format: 12-player Round-Robin (Open and Women’s Sections)
Venue: Alex Forbes Office, Sandton, Gauteng
Applicants must hold a valid International Arbiter (IA) or FIDE Arbiter (FA) title and be FIDE licensed and in good standing with the South African Chess Arbiters Association (AOC).
Travel & Accommodation
Arbiters are responsible for arranging their own transport and accommodation. A travel and accommodation allowance will be provided where required.
