Annual AOC registration fees and Swiss Manager Licenses

We would hereby like to inform you of the following decisions taken by the AOC with regards to the annual arbiter registration fees and Swiss Manager licences for 2025:

  1. Annual registration fees:
    • R200 per arbiter which includes Swiss Manager licence.
    • R150 per arbiter which excludes Swiss Manager licence
  2. The financial year will run from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025 (hereinafter referred to as “2025”).
  3. All arbiters will receive an invoice from the AOC for fees owed.
  4. Arbiters will be invoiced according to details received on official registration form provided.
  5. Only fees paid into the official FNB bank account of the AOC will be recognised.
  6. The reference number used must be in the format: surname/invoice number. Any deposits received without the proper reference format, will not be allocated. The onus is on the arbiter to provide proof of payment – treasurer@chessa-aoc.co.za
  7. 2025 registration fees must be paid by 28 Feb 2025. Any unpaid Swiss Manager licences will be revoked on 1 March 2025.
  8. Please note that it takes 2 weeks to activate a licence.
  9. If financial assistance is needed, proof must be given that club/region/province are not able to pay on behalf of arbiter. Portion for assistance will be provided for in the AOC budget. If employed or paid to arbiter, no assistance will be given. Requests for financial assistance must be sent to: secretary@chessa-aoc.co.za
  10. Registration- and Swiss Manager licences for 2024:
    • All efforts will be made to ascertain list of arbiters for 2024.
    • Any unpaid registration- and Swiss Manager licence fees must be paid before 31 December 2024.
    • If payment was made, proof must be provided.
    • Failure to pay these fees may result in suspension of the arbiter of all arbiter duties.
  11. In an effort to reconcile and allocate all Swiss Manager licences, the following will be done:
    • Chess South Africa currently has 200 licences registered with Heinz.
    • All members who registered on the link provided, will be asked for their Swiss Manager activation code to ensure that the licence is used and by whom.
    • Those who do not have a licence but requires one, will be allocated one from available licences.
    • Any unused licences will be cancelled to avoid unnecessary costs incurred by Chess SA
