FIDE Arbiter’s Seminar in Durban 2024

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organised from 01/07/2024 to 04/07/2024 in Durban, by the KwaZulu Natal Chess Association and Chess South Africa, under the auspices of FIDE.

The Lecturer will be IA Gunther, van den Bergh (RSA), FIDE Lecturer.

The language of the Seminar will be English.

The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

• Session 1: 0930-1100 (Tiebreaks + Hort system for prizes) (1.5h)
• Session 2: 1130-1300 (Arbiter titles + norms) (1.5h)
• Session 3: 1500-1700 (Player titles + norms) (2h)

2 July 2024
• Session 5: 0930-1130 (Swiss pairings, RR, other pairings) (2h)
• Session 6: 1200-1300 (Anti cheating, Hybrid, Online + fairplay) (1h)
• Session 7: 1500-1600 (Competition reg, equipment, etc.) (1h)
• Session 8: 1630-1730 (Pairing software, clocks, e-boards) (1h)
• Session 9: 1900-2100 (Laws of Chess) (2h)
